Is Purchasing Product "At Cost" from Wholesalers a Good Idea? by Worldwide Brands

Wholesale Tips Series - How to find wholesalers, doing business with a wholesaler, what to expect when purchasing from wholesalers and more.

Tip #19

What should Buyers expect when their wholesale supplier offers to sell a product: At Cost? It may mean different things, so do your research carefully. To sell At Cost, a wholesaler will make no profit. When they say At Cost, the wholesaler will be selling to you at exactly what it cost them to buy the goods from the manufacturer.

Think of this, if the wholesaler can’t sell the items to any retailer, how do you expect to sell the items to any of your buyers? You should always use your Product Sourcing tool (from Worldwide Brands) to determine the current demand for the product on the web before you place orders for At Cost items. If people are searching for these items and seem willing to buy, this may be a bargain that you’ll make some money out of. Alternatively, you could be selling 'at cost' or even 'below cost' to get rid of the inventory.
